What I mean is:

Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall = One Epic (a series of three campaigns telling one story)

All classes (Monk, Warrior, etc.) within P,F and N are of the same Epic.

Classes in one Epic can not have as a secondary class classes of another Epic.

So, let's say Chapter 4 comes around. It's the first campaign of a new Epic. Chapter 4 introduces new classes for a new Epic. By way of example we'll call them the Arsonist and the Yo-Yo Champion. Arsonists can have Yo-Yo Champion as a secondary. Yo-Yo Champion can have Arsonist as a secondary. But you will never see a Monk/Yo-Yo Champion (or a Yo-Yo Champion/Monk). If Chapter 5 is made, and it introduces new professions (again, by way of example, Newtonian Physicist and Girl Scout) you could make a Girl Scout/Yo-Yo Champion or a Newtonian Physicist/Arsonist, but not an Arsonist/Ranger or Girl Scout/Mesmer.

This would keep skill combinations from multiple classes from becoming degenerate due to sheer volume ... it's much easier to balance skills when the number of class combinations is limited.

Of course, with the power to fix the game via update at any time, A-net could do whatever it wants w/o doing any permanent damage. So new classes/skills aren't the greatest threat to game stability.

I hope on all that is satanic that you are wrong and that doesn't happen...

Besides, the core professions will ALWAYS be available, thats why they are CORE professions

I'm not saying the old professions won't be available. Just that they won't be able to have or be secondaries to new professions after a certain period of time. At least, hypothetically.

I don't mind the races idea, maybe some special skills for each race, that would save Anet having to think up new skills and professions later on. Mounts are the worst idea yet, and if Anet added a futuristic chapter, I would quit and play some other MMO . If they do add races, they should finish up all the current classes so that they each have the same number of skills.

The coolest thing that could ever happen in any chapter would be the addition of physics. Anet could take full advantage of the instanced environment, and make it so that meteor showers would knock down trees and set houses on fire, and other things like that.

nah, they'll always be there, otherwise they aren't CORE professions anymore

CHAPTER 4 WILL COME AFTER JUNE !!!!!

NCSoft Just released its plans for 2007, and also revealed its profit in 2006

QUOTE FROM PLAYNC.COM:

"The company also aims to provide a multi-faceted game portfolio to overseas users. Exteel™ and Dungeon Runners™ will be launched in the first half of the year, while the company anticipates the launching of Tabula Rasa and a new major update to the Guild Wars franchise in the latter half of 2007."

If you need the link, here it is (it is in the last paragraph of the press release":
http://www.plaync.com/us/news/2007/0...records_1.html

So NOW the question is...what happened to the 6-9 month release plan?

And is this long period the reason Anet is not releasing any info?

with E3 gone, will be see anything about Chapter 4 before release?

QUESTIONS....

1.Choose your own adventure type quests/gameplay
-Imagine being able to choose between multiple quests in the same area, but once you accept one quest, you can't accept others
-Imagine this quest(early on in the game) accidentally taking you to a city in a random lvl 20 area(not an armor city/gates are locked), and having to do a random or obscure quest in order to get back to the previous area you were in.(Of course you wouldn't be able to warp back to the lvl 20 area once done with the quest)

2.Multiple choice questions and answers for quests including consequences(Think KOTOR).
-This has only been done 4-5 times in guild wars but needs to be done more. For example, Officer Chitaro(Either red tape, or imperial assistance) and Scavangers in Ascalon. The only problem is, they still give you the same rewards and don't change the game nor show any consequences.

3.Quests that are more like the double dog dare one including not having a green arrow to guide you.

4.Removing Exclamation marks from NPCs, so that any random NPC could possibly give you a quest.
-This would interest people more in lore and actual exploration and NPC communication
-Could possibly be random money earning quests, in order to keep people's interests after reaching level 20

5.More or Full-game profession only quests.
-They were interesting because it was something only a certain profession could do. This quickly diminished when a person left yaks bend and moved on to kryta. Even moreso with Factions and Nightfall.

6.Jobs
-Purely for money earning
-Doesn't necesarily have to be being good at a certain craft, can be mercenary work, quick jobs, etc

Yes. I love all of things you suggested. Quests would be some much more fun if more brain power was needed to find and carry them out. Multiple answers would give more possibilities and add more to giving your character a story. We could be evil, neutral or good then receive reactions based on that.

Jobs would be wonderful too. They could be based on the profession you have, ie. Assassins could be asked to take hits, Warriors could be body guards, Mesmers could work in Theater?

I'd also like to see more use of traps withing missions and such. Rangers can already set them, but I'd like to have a class that can detect, then disarm traps. It would makes things very tricksy. Another class I want is a warrior type that can dual wield weapons, like swords. Assassin do this, but they aren't much for Warriors or tanks.

What I would hate to see, is firearms that are even close to being advance. GuildWars has a medieval setting so it would make no sense what so ever. The few canons you do see are rudimentary and adding in pistols would make no sense.

As for mounts, they'd be usesless. GW=/=WoW. Stop tryign to make them so similar.

Tabula Rasa is a completely different game being produced by NCSoft. It is not related to GW or CH4 at all. It is an MMOFPS that has been in developement since, I believe, at least Prophecies release.

I'm personally glad they aren't going to make the 6 month release window. I still have a lot I want to finish with my characters and wouldn't have been able to get it all done, such as getting UAS done for my account.

^Well obviously; the question is what will it be about and what is a less generalized time frame for its release.

Well they have better get some things right for chapter 4 or its my last chapter. If they go with how they did NF its over for me. Factions was more fun than NF has been and we know how factions was.

Why do people have such a great desire to fight lvl 20+ Charr? I just don't get it. I hate them! I only made one character in Prophecies and really hated it! The thought of slaughtering mountains and mountains of Charr kinda turns me off...

IMO the NF had the most fun campaign of all three chapters. I really had fun playing it. The most beautiful scenery too. Factions was way too stuffy and closed-in and confusing, I like open areas like istan, which was simply gorgeous. My chief complaint with NF pve would be DoA.
